By accessing and using MiniSeat ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
MiniSeat provides interactive legal training simulations and educational content designed for law students and trainee solicitors. The Service includes:
- Practice simulations of trainee solicitor tasks
- Educational modules covering corporate law topics
- AI-powered feedback and evaluation
- Performance tracking and analytics
3. Access, Pricing, and Future Paid Plans
MiniSeat may offer demos, waitlist registration, pilot access, and paid plans from time to time. The features and access options available to you may change as the product evolves.
Any live pricing, billing frequency, trial terms, and renewal terms that apply to a purchase will be shown clearly on the relevant purchase page or at checkout before you are charged.
You will not be charged for a paid plan unless you expressly choose one. Any cancellation and refund terms that apply to a future purchase will be provided alongside that purchase.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer or copy our content
- Distribute, sell, or sublicense our educational materials
- Use automated tools to scrape or download content
6. Intellectual Property
All content on MiniSeat (simulations, course materials, text, graphics, software) is owned by MiniSeat or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
7. Disclaimers
Educational Purpose Only: MiniSeat provides training simulations and is NOT a substitute for professional legal advice or formal legal qualifications.
No Guarantees: While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that our content will be error-free or that using the Service will result in employment or exam success.
AI Limitations: Our AI feedback is generated by machine learning models and may not always be accurate. It should be used as a learning aid, not absolute truth.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MiniSeat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
MiniSeat provides legal training simulations. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following information:
Account Information:
- Email address
- Name
- University (optional)
- Target firm tier (optional)
Performance Data:
- Simulation results and scores
- Time taken to complete tasks
- Responses to practice questions
- Module completion status
Payment Information:
- Subscription status and billing history (via Stripe)
- We do NOT store your credit card details (handled by Stripe)
Usage Data:
- Pages visited and features used
- Device and browser information
- IP address (for security purposes)
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Provide the MiniSeat service and personalized content
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Track your progress and provide performance feedback

4. AI Processing Disclosure
Important: Your written responses and submissions are processed by third-party AI services (currently Google Gemini) to provide feedback. These services may process your data on servers outside the UK/EU. We anonymize responses where possible and do not include personally identifiable information in AI requests.
5. Data Sharing
We share your data only with:
- Stripe: For payment processing
- Supabase: For secure data storage (EU servers)
- PostHog: For anonymous analytics (EU-hosted)
- Google Gemini: For AI feedback (anonymized)
We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties. We do NOT share your email with marketing companies.
6. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format

7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, plus:
- Account data: Deleted 90 days after account closure
- Billing records: Kept for 7 years (UK tax law requirement)
- Anonymized analytics: Retained indefinitely

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. Use a strong, unique password.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and analytics cookies (PostHog) to improve the service. You can disable analytics cookies in your browser settings.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
1. Current Status
MiniSeat may offer demos, pilot access, and paid plans at different stages of the product.
The pricing, billing, cancellation, and refund terms that apply to any purchase will be presented clearly on the relevant purchase page or before payment is taken.
2. Future Paid Plans
If MiniSeat introduces paid subscriptions, one-off purchases, or trial offers in future, the terms for cancellation, renewals, and any available refunds will be disclosed at checkout and in any confirmation email or billing screen.
3. Billing Questions or Errors
If you believe you have been charged in error, or if you have a billing question relating to a future MiniSeat purchase, contact us promptly at hello@miniseat.ai.
4. How We Will Handle Refund Requests
Where refunds are available for a future paid product, we will assess requests in line with the terms shown at the point of purchase and any rights you may have under applicable law.
If we approve a refund, we will process it back to the original payment method within a reasonable period.
5. Account Termination by MiniSeat
We reserve the right to terminate accounts for violations of our Terms of Service. Any refund rights in relation to a future paid plan will depend on the terms that applied at the time of purchase and on applicable law.
6. Payment Disputes
If you notice an unexpected charge, please contact us BEFORE disputing with your bank. We can resolve most issues quickly and chargebacks may result in account suspension.
